Kinesiologist Wolftrail

Makoyoh’sokoi is seeking a skilled Kinesiologist to assist in creating a presentation for our Measures Day. This presentation will guide the process of assessing our participants' fitness and health metrics. The Measures Day involves several stations, each focusing on various aspects of physical fitness and health.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop Operational Presentation:
    • Outline procedures for each fitness measure station.
    • Ensure clarity and ease of understanding for staff, volunteers, and participants.
  2. Explain Fitness Measures:
    • Detail the purpose and importance of each measure.
    • Provide clear instructions on conducting each assessment.

Stations and Measures

  • Grip Strength:
  • Explanation: Measures hand and forearm strength, indicating overall muscle function.
  • Procedure: Use a handgrip dynamometer. Include instructions for properuse and recording results.

Body Composition

  • Explanation: Measures the proportion of fat and non-fat mass, providing insights into overall health.
  • Procedure: Use a bioelectrical impedance weight scale with sensors and a height measure instrument. Ensure participants are barefoot and standing still. Explain interpretation focusing on BMI, fat percentage, and lean mass.
  • Cardiorespiratory Fitness: Explanation: Indicates the health of the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, crucial for endurance and overall health.
  • Procedure: Conduct a one-mile walk test. Provide instructions on proper technique, pacing, and recording time. Include guidelines for interpreting results.

Metabolic Fitness

  • Blood Pressure
    • Explanation: Indicates cardiovascular health and assesses the risk of hypertension.
    • Procedure: Measure blood pressure using a sphygmomanometer. Include instructions on proper cuff placement, inflation, and reading measurements.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Attend Measures Day
    • Provide hands-on assistance and guidance at each station.
    • Ensure accurate and efficient measurement processes.
    • Address questions or concerns from participants and staff.

Qualifications

  • Certified Kinesiologist with experience in conducting fitness assessments.
  • Strong understanding of grip strength, body composition, cardiorespiratory fitness, and metabolic fitness.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
